Think before you act

As I sit in the sun
The morning warmth sifts across my face
Memento Mori
A new day bequeathed upon me by life
Gratitude
Conviction
Hope
Drumming the beat of my being
The world beckons
Opportunity in my embrace
Whispers of fortune
Snickers of temptation
Morals
Fame
Success
Lust it creeps in the air
Red shadows and raspy laughs
Sensual glances
Screaming curves
Sex
Love
Betrothal
Delicate cries
Innocent eyes
Upon a world set to demise
Awoken to words on a note
Becoming
Acceptance
Regret
Untouched pillows and lonely nights
Impending questions
Awoken memories
Disappearing alibis
Who
Why
Angst
Another life cradled by lies
Now free to this obtuse reality
Cruel Reminder
Think before you act

People are always attracted to more. Doesn’t matter more of what, more is more. You have more, they come to you. Sometimes, or even most of the time, not for you, but for the more. When more comes along, it’s always prudent to beware of the more-seekers. The poem is about those-seekers and sometimes how a little more, like a little child, can be more than they can handle.
